Tour Information

Tours last approximately 60–90 minutes. All tours are free of charge, although donations are always welcome.

Please meet at the notice board by the main (North) gate.

Parking within the cemetery is limited; however, a pay-and-display car park is available opposite at the Thackray Museum. There is also a regular bus service with stops directly outside the cemetery.

Sturdy footwear is recommended. Some paths are uneven and may be slippery after rain.

Working Party - 2nd June 2026 10AM till 12 Noon

Join us for our regular 1st Tuesday of the month working party, in the Cemetery from 10AM till 12 Noon.

Help us keep the cemetery clean, tidy, and welcoming for everyone to enjoy. Please wear suitable clothing and join us in caring for this historic and peaceful place.

General Tour of Cemetery - 9th June 2026 @ 11AM

Alun Pugh will lead a general tour, pointing out a mixture of aspects of the Cemetery. 


Part of National Cemeteries Week (6th – 14th June) Meet at the Notice Board, near the main gate, at 11am. All welcome.

Parking in the Cemetery is limited but pay and display parking is available at the Thackray Museum.

Please wear suitable footwear.

Women Within These Walls tour (Repeat)

Thursday, 11 Jun 2026 at 11:00

Sylvia Hodges and Jeanette Bolton will repeat their Women Within These Walls tour.

The lives and professions of women buried there will be discussed as we take a one hour walk around looking at their memorials.

Meet at the Notice Board, near the main gate, at 11am. All welcome.

Parking in the Cemetery is limited but pay and display parking is available at the Thackray Museum.
