Introduction to Our Cemetery Map Series

Welcome to our series on the Beckett Street Cemetery maps, specially created by the Friends of Beckett Street Cemetery. These interactive maps have been designed to help you explore the cemetery virtually from anywhere, and to assist you in locating graves with greater ease.

Whether you're researching family history, paying tribute to a loved one, or simply discovering the stories held within these historic grounds, our maps aim to guide you every step of the way. Each map is linked to records and images where available, making your visit—virtual or in person—as informative and meaningful as possible.

We hope this series enhances your connection to Beckett Street Cemetery and the lives remembered within it.

Grave Locator

As part of this series, you can enter a specific grave number and choose how many surrounding graves you'd like to see, making it easy to find nearby burials. Members will be able to click on any highlighted grave to view details about its exact location within the cemetery, information about the individuals buried there, and any available photographs. Click here to use the Grave Locator tool. This feature offers a powerful tool for both research and remembrance, helping you uncover connections and explore the cemetery in a more interactive way.

360 Virtual Tour

We’ve also introduced a 360° virtual view of the cemetery – click here to explore, allowing users to navigate around the cemetery as if they were walking the grounds. This immersive experience lets you explore key areas, view grave locations, and appreciate the layout and atmosphere of the site—all from the comfort of your own device. It's a valuable tool for those unable to visit in person, bringing the cemetery to life in a new and engaging way.

Cemetery Plot Map

Our Cemetery Plot Map provides a complete overview of Beckett Street Cemetery. This interactive map shows which graves are occupied and how many individuals are buried in each one. Members can click on any grave to view a detailed list of all those interred, along with links to any associated media such as photographs or documents. It's a valuable tool for gaining a broader understanding of the cemetery and the lives remembered within it.

Section Plot Map

The Section Plot Map allows you to explore all graves within a chosen section of Beckett Street Cemetery. Each listed grave includes a thumbnail image of the recorded headstone where available. Members can click on any grave to access further information, including burial details and associated media. This feature is ideal for focused research within specific areas of the cemetery.

Connections & Symbols Map

The Connections & Symbols Map allows users to explore graves based on special connections and features. Using a dropdown list, you can filter for graves belonging to military personnel, or memorial inscriptions for individuals buried elsewhere. The map also highlights the condition of graves and displays any symbols found on headstones, helping to interpret the visual language of remembrance throughout the cemetery. Due to the large number of graves and individuals interred, this map is continually being updated as new information becomes available.
